Part Time Classes

Welcome to the Part-Time Training Programme at SYTS.

The Sylvia Young Theatre School is committed to providing high-quality part-time training for students aged 4 to 18 years old. Classes are held on Thursday evenings and Saturdays at our Central London school at 1 Nutford Place.

Each term is based on training and includes:

Term 1:

The January term follows a central theme for each age group across all three disciplines (singing, drama and dance).  Using the central theme, each class will dedicate a period of time in preparation for a class presentation on Parents Open Day.

Term 3:

April

Training:

Certificates:

Focusing on excellence in singing, drama & dance training.

At the end of the summer term, all students are awarded certificates of achievement to recognise the commitment to their training at SYTS.

We do not present productions or take exams. However, parents are invited to visit classes towards the end of each term to observe the work their child has been involved with.

Our part-time school teachers are from our full-time school or are teachers who have been actively involved in, or are currently involved in, professional performance. Our classes focus on vocational development with good training. We aim to build confidence and communication skills within a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Students are grouped by age:

4-6 years (primary classes)
7-10 years
11-13 years
14-18

Some classes are marked 'selected'. Unfortunately, new students cannot apply for these classes until they have been assessed and invited to join them.

Primary classes offer a combination of Jazz Dance and Tap.
